Some of these steps could be taken by supervisory authorities under their current mandates and objectives, but others may depend on their mandates being revised to reflect better the SDGs and broader national priorities. A greater emphasis on climate change, financial inclusion and gender equality in the principles and standards issued by international standard setters could also provide impetus for national supervisory authorities to take additional steps in these areas.
